Ethan's 6th Birthday!

I said it this year,  will probably say it next year, so I'll say it again now "where does the time go?"

My lil guy turned 6 on August 14th! I don't know how many mistakes I kept making while planning his birthday and writing "happy 5th birthday".  It doesn't seem possible that he actually turned 6 but it's true :/  I know it happens, children grow up...but I'm in no rush for that to happen and am going to treasure every single moment I have with them.

This year I took a different approach and tried to handle everything myself.  NO decorations from party city (except of course the balloons)!!  I wanted a touch of uniqueness to his party but at the same time carry out the "batman"  theme, since we all know that Ethan truly is "batman" lol.  Some people think I'm crazy for spending sooo much time for something that gets over within 2 hours.  But to me all of this was done on my "free" time and didn't take too much energy and was more of a creative outlook of mine..plus the party was pretty much a smash hit!

We had a sundae bar for the kids and adults.   The birthday banner was made with just ribbon and scrapbook paper bought at the Scrapbook Nook.

The cupcake and butter cream frosting recipe was from The Joy of Cooking website.  For the Cupcake toppers I used the same scrapbook yellow and black stripped paper for the background and using "batman" font on the computer made the labels and just cut and glued them

Just like the cupcake toppers I made food labels for the sundae toppings.  The vases I bought for $1 at the Dollar store :)

Here the kiddos are playing "save Gotham Cities water source" and had to take the water from one city over to Gotham city by using cups with holes punched at the bottom...they had tons of fun with this one!!

The next part of the obstacle was to fly the "bat mobiles" (paper airplanes) into the "bat cave" which was just a large container ;)

One of the final obstacles (that I was able to get a picture of at least) was running and balancing on the "sky scrapers" on top of Gotham city!

At the finish line!!!
And last but not least the birthday present Ethan has been waiting 2 years for......A SUPER SOAKER!!

I look forward to doing it all again next year...but just hope it doesn't get here as fast as this last one did :)

2012 Todd Beamer High School Rep - Denali

I met Denali through my Bonney Lake High School Rep Quinn.  It's actually funny because it seems somehow all of my reps know each other through soccer or through mutual friends (oh the good ol' age of facebook)!.  So it make for easy conversation lol.  Denali has a spunky personality and once again another sweet down to earth girl.  I'm so lucky to have the amazing Senior Reps that I do!!! I can't wait to see what this next year brings for her.....Enjoy the pics!

Meet Anushka!

I met this wonderful young women at my mini session that I held at Point Defiance Park.  She found out about the sessions through craigslist (oh i have such a love hate relationship with that website).  One thing I love about photography is meeting so many different people, learning about their background and taking bits and pieces of what I learn and apply them to my life.  Anushka was definitely one of those people!  She is such a genuinely nice person and her Aura just radiates positive energy.  I look forward to the day where I can work with her again (and eat one of her delicious s'more cupcakes!!!).

*these cupcakes were delicious!!  If you are in need of a fabulous cupcake for a wedding, event or party I will pass along your info to her**

2012 Mountain View Senior - Karissa

Some of you might remember this face!  She was the first senior to participate in my Senior Rep Program back in May :)  Along with her free session for being a Senior Rep she also wanted to purchase a "mini session" to spread out her pictures throughout the year.  Here are a few from the session!!

2012 Bonney Lake High School Rep - Quinn

Wow...it's been quite a while since I've last posted.  It's amazing how fast time slips by.  I guess I hadn't realized how busy I was, or maybe it was because I took advantage of the sun (the times we did have some)and just neglected the blog.  Regardless of what it was I'm back and have lots to share!!  The first post is from my Senior Rep session from a little over a month ago (yikes).

*if you know of anyone that attend BLHS contact Quinn for a chance to get 10% off your senior session!*

LaCaze Family

The LaCaze family....where do I start???

This was the first family where they weren't referred by anyone and they didn't have facebook they actually came across an ad I put on Craigslist.  So needless to say I was a bit nervous meeting them.  I kept wondering  "what they'll be like, will they be nice, how will they react to me....is this even a legit family?"   Needless to say leading up to that day I was a bunch of nerves and I actually asked my husband aka "my bodyguard for the day" to come with me lol. I couldn't have been more wrong about this family :) They were the nicest people I've met in a long time and am so happy that I could capture their family during this time in there life. They have 2 wonderful children and a rock solid marriage of 25 years!

Thank you the LaCaze's for the wonderful time and I can't wait for our yearly sessions!!!
